You are invited to attend the Appalachian Addiction and Prescription Drug Abuse Conference in the fall. The WVMPHP, working closely with the West Virginia Boards of Allopathic and Osteopathic Medicine, the WV Department of Health and Human Resources, West Virginia State Medical Association and the West Virginia Osteopathic Medical Association sponsor an annual educational program entitled, the “Appalachian Addiction and Prescription Drug Abuse Conference,” scheduled this year for October 19-21, 2017 at the Embassy Suites in Charleston. This outstanding conference aimed at medical professionals brings in experts from West Virginia and around the country to discuss addiction and treatment issues and share best practices. This year’s focus is: Pain & Addiction, Best Practices & Proper Prescribing. The conference satisfies the state-mandated CME requirement for physicians and many other disciplines in this area. For those unable to attend, the WVSMA condenses this program into a 3-hour webinar accessible to all physicians. There is additional CME /CEUs for multiple other disciplines as well.
As you can see, the first day focuses particularly on integration of addiction treatment into the physician’s office.
The house of medicine stands by ready to work with you in mitigating the drug abuse crisis in this state. To ensure success, we need to reach all physicians. As a WV healthcare provider, please consider joining us at the conference in continuing education.
We would be honored by your presence at this pinnacle of physician and other licensed healthcare professional educational event.
